How we started
Aritzia is a design house with an innovative global platform, home to an extensive portfolio of exclusive brands for every function and individual aesthetic. Creators and purveyors of Everyday Luxury, Aritzia provides highly personalized shopping experiences at aritzia.com and in 115+ boutiques. Aritzia’s Support Campus is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, where the retailer was founded. Our shared local roots laid the foundation for our partnership, which began in 2013. Since then, we’ve supported the brand’s continued next-life logistics efforts.

The Journey
Phase 1: Strategic Consultation
We first began working with the Aritzia team to align on financial, operational, and sustainability goals for the project. This consultation stage alongside our Sales and Solutions teams established the best course of action and appropriate exit channels for our team to plan our sortation strategy.
Phase 2: The Logistics
We then started receiving apparel from Aritzia’s Canadian Distribution Center and Support Office. These items were collected from nonsalable customer returns or product samples, as well as in-store damages, all spanning multiple brands and product types.
Our team sorted each garment diverted from the Distribution Center and Support Office based on the channels that were established in the consultation stage. Sorted products were then sent to our vetted solution partner facilities:
Fiber Reclamation: 55%
Responsible Disposal: 36%
Down Recycling: 9%
As we firmed operations and logistics for the intake process, we expanded intake for product from Aritzia’s US Distribution Center. Today, we play an important role in the brand’s product’s next-life logistics across all geographic locations in Canada and the United States.
In addition to our Fiber Reclamation, Responsible Disposal, Metal & Down Recycling solutions, Aritzia has activated meaningful Reuse channels through their strong in-house donation programs.
Through this journey, Aritzia diverted 212,312 lbs. of textile waste from landfill in 2019–2023
Our Outcomes
Keeping textile waste out of landfills—both regionally and internationally—helps reduce environmental impact by reducing methane outputs from decomposition, interference with neighboring ecosystems, water and soil contamination, and endangering the health of nearby communities.
Where We're Headed
With Aritzia’s commitment to improving their environmental impact across the value chain, we work in close partnership with their Sustainability team to explore next-life opportunities across product categories and departments. With the years of product insights our team has gained, we are expanding our partnership with Aritzia to incorporate more circular principles into their business.
